DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) - Definition
DHCP is an abbreviation for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It is the method for a device to dynamically assign (Internet Protocol) IP addresses from a central server to each connected computer or device. Using the Internet Protocol, each machine that connects to the Internet needs a unique IP address, which is assigned when an Internet connection is established for that device.
