GUI - Definition
GUI is an abbreviation for Graphical User Interface. It is a type of user interface that uses graphics, such as icons and windows, that enables a person to communicate with a computer. Microsoft Windows uses a GUI interface. The term came about because the first interactive user interfaces were not graphical. They were text-and-keyboard oriented with commands you had to remember.
