HTML is an abbreviation for Hypertext Markup Language. It is a file format and programming code commonly used with pages located on the world wide web. HTML is read by web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer and can be used to embedded graphics, audio, video, and applets. It links to other hypertext markup language pages using uniform resource locators (URLs).
