Jumper - Definition
A Jumper is a plastic covered metal block that slips over two pins that protrude from a circuit board. The jumper can be moved to change electrical connectors. When in place, the jumper connects the pins electrically. Configuration of the hardware via software eliminated the use of many jumpers.
