mySQL - Definition
mySQL is a database which is commonly used with web pages. It can allow viewers to look up specific information from a large quantity of data stored in the database. For example, a web site has a text field that allows a user to look up a member. The viewer can search by last name, and find a single name or list of names out of all of the names stored in the database. The programming language that is used to perform this specific search is called Structured Query Language (SQL).
