XON/XOFF - Definition
XON/XOFF is a protocol for controlling the flow of data between computers and other devices on an asynchronous serial connection. XOFF is used by a receiving device to tell the transmitting device to stop transmitting. When it is all right for the device to recommence, the XON character is sent.
